NVVR.WORLD is a multidisciplinary platform based on Karangahape Road in Tāmaki Makaurau, dedicated to exploring new modes of sustainable fashion. Through garment-making, events, exhibitions, retail, and educational workshops, we challenge traditional fashion systems and embrace a slower, more intentional approach to design. Our work exists at the intersection of craft and innovation, creating space for dialogue around materiality, sustainability, and the evolving relationship between clothing and wearer.

Focusing on one-off pieces and small-run collections, NVVR.WORLD navigates the space between ready-to-wear and couture methodologies. We source textiles locally from pre-consumer waste, including cutting + sampling waste, and recycled materials, giving new life to what would otherwise be discarded. Every garment is designed, developed, and manufactured in our K’ Road studio, ensuring a hands-on, considered approach to every stage of the process. Collaboration and experimentation are at the core of our practice, shaping a future for fashion that values resourcefulness, community, and conscious creation.

NICOLE VAN VUUREN

Nicole van Vuuren is a designer, educator, and maker whose work explores the intersections of sustainability, materiality, and experimental garment construction. Fascinated by the in-between—the space between body and cloth, entity and boundary, finish and unfinish—she creates pieces that challenge traditional notions of perfection and permanence in fashion.

Born in Aotearoa, Nicole grew up making with offcuts from the furniture factory where her father worked. After completing a Bachelor of Fashion with Honours at RMIT University in Melbourne, she gained industry experience at Eckhaus Latta in New York before returning to Aotearoa to establish her own practice. Alongside her garment-making and research, she is a lecturer in Sustainable Fashion Design, committed to fostering critical thinking and inspiring the next generation of designers.
